The Band Who are these boys, CORNAMUSA what's that. Well it's a band coming out of Germany that started back in 1998 with their first self titled release CORNAMUSA coming in 2004 and later that year adding a second guitarist named Ace Griffin. With a stage presence that exceeds the norm and driving the fans wild you can't but help being focused on their German success. Their live stage show is truly an icon, with women in tubes on sides of the stage showing some skin, another spinning on a knife throwing wheel, flame throwers going off and two front men who can actually sing. WHAT!!! Yeah, Torsten Bähring one of the vocalist who rocks out setting a new trend adding killer bagpipes to CORNAMUSA all that plus a Mohawk and has great streaming vocals lets lose on every track on "Both Worlds". Well let's get to the disc. first off its pretty wild you have a guy like Torsten looking hard, that has vocals like a harder edged Neil Finn of CROWDED HOUSE, I shit you. CORNAMUSA bring the complete package of enthusiasm with duel vocals of Torsten Bähring and Tommy Giant trading off as the duel guitarist of Ace Griffin and Christian Hufeland suck you in with their coma style playing when drummer Fabian Frank and bassist Peter Scheler bring the thunder. "Best of Both Worlds", with duel guitars trading off with the bagpipes is phenomenal and this is the first time I've heard a band that mixes such a diverse array of instruments sound that good. The double vocals are amazing and you can feel the power and energy that posses each member. "Jesus Poster" will wreak the benefits of an arena as it will have fans up on their chairs scream and chanting along. Listen to "Both World" it has a spiritual feel that is undeniable and the echoes of an uplifting vibe will be heard on many tunes including "Call Me Angel". Once again CORNAMUSA is the total package, killer guitar licks, great songs with vibrant vocals and bagpipes, not to mention the flying keyboards. What a great band to check out and pick up their new CD "Both Worlds" that will send you into a dream world of mysterious turns. Written by Brian Rademacher (CEO) at Rockeyez.com |
